About Regard for a Passion
Introduction
The author is a member of the Photographic Society of South Africa and from time to time enters own works from a varied portfolio in international photographic competitions. Competitions and nominations are valuable means to obtain professional criticism on works from a jury from 50 countries. Within the framework of all competitions, specific rules apply and works are judged on merits of such specific aspects mastered in each genre.
Note that only photographic works for which we have permission from clients, can be entered in photographic competitions, as per the applicable Model Release forms signed.

Conceptual Photo Nominations
Conceptual photography originated from conceptual art, its task is to illustrate this or that idea.
The concept, on the one hand, is subjective, but, on the other hand, a successful photo will be understood by the viewer. In artistic photography, conceptual photography can be rather abstract, so it is judged almost exclusively on the basis of its subjective and aesthetic qualities.
In this nomination, editing is allowed, including adding, deleting, moving objects, adding additional graphic elements, changing the background using graphic editors.
Nude 18+ Nominations
Nude - photographs revealing the beauty of the naked body, where the main thing in the picture is the expressiveness of the pose, image, atmosphere, mood, where intimate details of the body can be hidden by shadows, gesture or drapery, but nudity will always be implied.
Models must be over 18 years old. Pictures with an emphasis on bare genitals, as well as with a lack of artistic presentation are not accepted.
Fashion & Glamour Nominations
Glamorous photography focuses the viewer's attention on the model, while clothing and background details multiply her attractiveness. Fashion photography aims to create a mood and atmosphere that represents a particular lifestyle. The age of the model or group of persons does not matter.
Staged Photography Nominations
Photos that capture staged or artificially organized scenes specifically for this photography. In this category, we expect scenes that have a cinematic quality and look as if objects or people on them "play roles". It is the artistic idea that is the basis of any staged photography and requires its specific implementation.
In this nomination, editing is allowed, including adding, deleting, moving objects, adding additional graphic elements, changing the background using graphic editors.
Wildlife Nominations
Animals, birds, fish and other living things in their natural habitat. The photo should show an interesting moment in the life of the animal, its behavior and interaction with other individuals or the environment.
Dynamic, emotional, memorable and original shots are welcome. We are waiting for technically difficult photographs with rare species of animals. The photo should not contain insects, pets, people, objects related to human use or man-made structures. Photos from zoos are not accepted.
